We are a counseling center that specializes in trauma.
What does this mean? Our therapists are trained and educated in treating trauma and operate on a trauma informed approach. We treat clients with trauma related disorders such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, chronic trauma such as one would find with Complex Post Traumatic Stress and Dissociative Disorders. Yes, we treat multiples or those who meet the diagnostic criteria for Dissociative Identity Disorder or Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder.
A select amount of our therapists are members of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, a world-renowned organization that puts forth regular training and education for the treatment and research of trauma related disorders.

Koinonia Counseling Center is here for our community. We want to be available to anyone who might need our services and because of this, we represent ourselves as humble collaborators. What this also means is that we are here for those who are underrepresented, devalued, left out or thrown out or who finds themselves needing an ally. KCC’s counselors have Christian/Faith based educations and are counselors who are here for those in the LQBTQIA+ community with open hearts, open ears, and closed mouths. We stand beside the oppressed and long for minority justice and weep along side those who suffer from injustice. We want to listen to you and tailor treatment to what you need for your heart, soul, and your mental health treatment. If this entails a diagnosis, we want to work with you and your care providers to facilitate the best level of success that you desire.
